The truth is that if you are reading this you either know our story or you have been a part of our story in some way throughout the past 10 years. We continue to grow with each other each day and have come a long way and through many beautiful parts of life together. With that said, read on to get a glimpse of our 2020 legal ceremony and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE read the COVID-19 updates and check back.
As many of you know, we had originally set our wedding date to September 12th, 2020. After the pandemic hit, we made the decision to postpone our wedding to 2021 and have a very small, and intimate legal ceremony at the lake. We tried to keep the amount of people there very low, thus only having the bridal party and immediate family present. After we had our legal ceremony, we flew to San Diego to spend time on the beach and with each other & it was perfect. We are now continuing with some updated plans on August 7th, 2021 with our extended family and friends. We are legally married already of course, but will have another ceremony for those not there in 2020, and have a "vow renewal" because it will also be our 10th year together! We have made some changes to be mindful of COVID-19.
Safety Precautions: Venue: We decided to move our wedding outdoors at Jeremy's aunt and uncles home where there will be more than enough room to social distance. Social Distancing: Please follow CDC guidelines of remaining 6 feet apart from someone who is not in your household. Masks: Please bring a mask - I understand that the mask mandate has been lifted, most people may be vaccinated, and it is outdoors. We really ask that you wear it in the house for restroom use, and when you go up to the bar or go to the buffet for dinner. We are requiring this for everyone's safety, its the smallest thing we can do to keep everyone healthy. Sanitation: We will have hand sanitizer available around the yard. Food catering: We will have Barbecue Co. from Hartford serving our food, they will come equipped with masks and gloves. It is buffet style. Seating at tables: I will set up seating so that you are distanced from others at your table that are not in your household. Reception: We have a DJ for the night, however we will also have yard games like bags, giant jenga, etc. to play throughout the green space. We ask that the only reason for going into the house would be for bathroom use only and to wear your mask if you go in to use the restroom out of respect for the homeowners. There will be a fancy porto-potty in the yard as well. Bar: There will be a bartender available to serve you. Please please please be respectful of our wishes. The bottom line is the purpose of use originally postponing was for safety... so please be respectful of our rules. We want to make sure everyone is comfortable and safe. I know these are weird times, and we understand if you wish not to attend, or to only stay a short time. Thank you & see you then! Alyssa & Jeremy
