Before finding each other, Alyssa and Jaypee spent most of their 20's doing exactly what they were supposed to be doing - living life to the fullest. They were both busy building their careers, making lifelong friendships, traveling, growing as individuals, and navigating the ups and downs of dating. Looking back, it is clear that God was preparing each of them for the life they would eventually build together. In God's perfect timing, their paths finally crossed. They matched on the online dating app "Hinge" in Atlanta, and their connection was immediate. Within just a few days, they had their first official date planned. But neither of them wanted to wait that long. Jaypee invited Alyssa to join him at his tattoo appointment, and that casual outing became the first time they met in person. What was supposed to be a simple tattoo appointment turned into something much more memorable - love at first sight. As Alyssa was getting ready for their first official dinner date, she texted a few of her closest friends and said, "Maybe this will be the last time I ever have to get ready for a first date." As it turns out, she was right. Things move quickly when they're meant to be. As their relationship blossomed, they built a foundation filled with love, faith, adventure, and unwavering support. Jaypee had a job promotion opportunity in Orlando, FL, ironically, where Alyssa is from and family still lives. After only 3 months of knowing each other, they decided to make the move to Florida! Every step of their journey has felt like a reminder that God's plan is always greater than our own. One of the things that makes their story even more meaningful is their shared connection to the U.S. Virgin Islands, something they spoke about on their very first date. While they both grew up on the mainland, their families have roots in the islands, making the Caribbean a place that has always felt like home. Jaypee's dad is from St. Thomas, USVI, and Alyssa's dad is from Tortola, BVI. It was only fitting that they chose St. Thomas as the place where they would begin their next chapter as husband and wife. Surrounded by the people they love most, Alyssa and Jaypee are excited to celebrate not only their marriage, but also the joining of two families, cultures, and traditions. Both Alyssa and Jaypee's parents got married in March, that is why they have chosen to continue the tradition and get married in March as well. They are incredibly grateful for the love and support that has brought them to this moment and cannot wait to share this unforgettable celebration on St. Thomas with their family and friends.
