It all began in 2014 when Alyssa decided to put her name down for the Mt. Eden Choir talent show. Mesmerized by her voice, Iren gained the courage to ask for a photo with her. By the end of the night, they were nonstop texting, and the rest is history! On August 25, 2015, Iren finally asked Alyssa to officially be his girlfriend. In 2025, Iren decided it was finally time to tie the knot. Ten beautiful years together had now turned into a lifetime.

On May 23, 2025, Iren planned to propose to Alyssa at Parc del Laberint d’Horta in Barcelona, Spain—specifically in the maze garden, centered around a statue of the Greek god of love. He made sure everything was planned out: the ring, keeping the parents updated, and most importantly, the location. With just a few close calls of Alyssa using his phone to navigate around Barcelona, it was finally time. Upon arrival, and with his luck, the location he had previously chosen was closed for refurbishment. Thinking quickly, he found a small, quiet pond tucked away in the back of the park. He knew this would be the spot. Requesting Jason, Alyssa’s younger brother, to take a photo of them together was the cue for everyone. While Alyssa had her suspicions about how, where, what, or when… she had no idea what was coming. When Iren turned her body toward him, her heart started pounding and tears of happiness began to form. He positioned Alyssa at the center of the pond, got down on one knee, and asked her to marry him. The proposal was private, sweet, and so incredibly special for the both of them.
