We have written the code for each event under the "Schedule" tab. A note from the bride: We island people dress up.

Question

What is the weather in Roatan like?

Answer

September tends to be warm, with the occasional short burst of rain followed by sunshine. We recommend packing light, breathable clothing—just as you would for any Caribbean getaway!

Question

Will my phone work in Roatan?

Answer

Most USA carriers allow for roaming in Honduras. WhatsApp will be the preferred form of communication for the bride and groom. A wedding WhatsApp group will be created for updates on events during the wedding week.

Question

What language is spoken on the island?

Answer

English is the primary language on the island. While the local accent may sound a bit different, it's easy to understand and communicate.

Question

How do I get around the island?

Answer

1. Most hotels offer shuttles to and from the airport. 2. Many hotels offer shuttles to restaurants and activities that are not within walking distance, but you have to book them in advance. We recommend contacting your hotel concierge to do so. (If you have any issues let us know!) 3. Water taxis are the best, fastest, and most scenic way to get from West Bay to West End, which are the places we expect most folks to venture to and from. 4. Renting a car is always a great option!

Question

Is the island safe?

Answer

Very. Roatán is a major tourist destination, and West Bay is considered the safest community on the island. That said, we kindly remind our guests to exercise caution, especially when driving or walking in poorly lit areas late at night, as you would traveling anywhere else. It's also wise to avoid engaging with individuals on/off the beach who may seem overly pushy, particularly local vendors. If you're ever unsure about a tour company or activity, it's always best to check with Fisher, Aly, or their families for recommendations. Your safety and enjoyment are our top priorities!
