In August 2021, a close friend of Alyssa's helped her get a job at Sprouts. As it would turn out, Alyssa worked a few feet across from Erick, and they would slowly start getting to know each other at work.

Alyssa asked for Erick's number in June 2022. Shortly after, they planned to meet up for coffee. Little did they know, they would click right away and spend hours talking in that coffee shop.

In September 2022, Erick asked Alyssa to go out on a date, and they had a lovely night with dinner and drinks at BJ's. Their date was full of excitement, laughs, and endless conversation.

Erick and Alyssa continued to grow their love and develop their relationship over the next two years. They learned how to care and support each other as they navigated through the joys and obstacles of college, work, and life.

In December 2024, Alyssa believed that her family and Erick were taking her to the Dana Point Arches for family photos. To her surprise, Alyssa watched as Erick knelt to his knee and pulled out a ring. With joy, she said yes!
