He was a meteorologist, and she had just moved into town. Brett reached out a few times, but their conversations were sparse until a major storm rolled through. With tornado warnings in the area, Alyssa reached out, mentioning, “My cousin is in town and is a little nervous with all the warnings.” During one of the busiest stretches of the year with tornado warnings going off nearly every night for a week, he replied and promised to keep a close watch and keep her informed on her area. If not for that storm, they may never have connected the way they did. Just a few months prior, Alyssa had felt a strong pull to move to Tennessee from Boca Raton, Florida. After much prayer, she felt that was what the Lord was leading her to do. Not knowing what was ahead, she trusted the decision, as He had already been at work connecting them even before she arrived. Through storms, both literal and figurative, their paths crossed, and God has been writing their love story ever since.
