Brandon and I went to the same college out of high school. I always saw him walking around campus in his big camouflage jacket (I later learned he had worked at a military surplus store, further explaining the quality of the jacket). I always thought to myself, you should talk to him, however I didnt know how. One semester we were in the same writing class and sat a row away from each other. Our professor paired us together to peer review our papers and thats the first time we talked. Soon after I followed him on twitter wishing him a happy birthday like everyone else he followed was. Then i noticed we would tweet song lyrics and one of us would finish the others and then I thought this is it, I’m going to message him and see where this goes. And the rest is history!
Our first date was fairly simple and laid back, just like us. He picked me up and took me to a housing development that had a pond in the back. We fished for most of the day and we barely caught anything (nothing has changed to this day with our fishing luck). After being eaten alive by mosquitos, 21 to be exact, we went to a new frozen yogurt place in town and he took me home. Short, sweet and simple!
It was black friday, I had just came off a 12 hour midnight shift and I was so tired. I had told myself and Brandon that I was taking a cat nap and we were going shopping. We always go in the afternoon when the crowd dies down and we can see whats left. I woke up and he said he decided to go to Beaver Creek State Park (we spend a lot of our dates here) because it was nice that day and he just wanted to take a walk. Naturally I threw a fit because who doesnt want to go shopping on black friday?! He promised we would go after so I agreed and off we went. Every time we go to the park I always make him go stand by the creek and face away from me and I take his picture, theyre my favorite to take. On this particular day, not thinking anytging of it, he asked me to go stand by the creek and look away because he wanted to take the picture for once. The next thing I knew I turned around and he was on one knee asking me to marry him. I was too excited to even get tears or words out, all I could say was yes!
