We’re thrilled to have Joe as our officiant! Joe is much more than a friend—he’s the reason our story came together. Joe and Alyssa became fast friends while working in DC. Later, Brad hired Joe as the bar manager at his distillery, Lost Ark, where the two bonded over their mutual love of the craft. Joe's presence at the distillery brought Alyssa in for many visits, and she eventually joined the Lost Ark family as a part-time bartender. Joe has been a constant and huge presence in both our lives ever since. It was impossible to imagine him standing on either side of the wedding party, so it felt only right that our closest friend and the very person who connected us be the one to stand between us as we say "I do."

The Lost Ark Distillery didn’t just spark a relationship between Brad and Alyssa—it also introduced Alyssa to one of her dearest friends, Dana. Dana was a dedicated regular during Alyssa’s Thursday night trivia shifts, quickly shifting from favorite customer to close friend when Alyssa joined her team. Today, their bond is a perfect blend of high-energy fun and shared obsessions: from their deep love for the game Baldur's Gate to their commitment to creating outrageous, themed costumes for any and every occasion. Dana is Alyssa’s closest friend and co-conspirator, guaranteed to bring a great laugh, a witty retort, and a shared drink to any spontaneous adventure they embark on (with Brad and Shawn in tow).

Brad and Shawn also met at the Lost Ark Distillery—with Shawn even having his wedding reception there. Being married to Dana, Shawn and Brad have spent a lot of time talking about music, sports, and their respective partners while being drug into various shenanigans together by the girls. Over many late nights and countless drinks they’ve bonded over their mutual humor and their shared patience for enduring all of Alyssa and Dana’s antics. Brad is thrilled to have his most trusted drinking buddy and closest friend standing as his Best Man on his big day.

Dani and Alyssa met through Dani’s fiancé Chris, but their connection was instantaneous. It turns out that nothing cements a friendship faster than shared dark humor, a dedicated love for sweatpants and flannels, and detailed, well-researched plans for surviving the inevitable apocalypse. Dani is Alyssa’s go-to for hilariously dark jokes, endless hours of crafts and thrifting, and ensuring they both make it through the end of days.

As Brad’s younger brother, Josh has been there since day one—sharing everything from childhood toys to embarrassing family stories. While they may have traded blows over the remote control in their youth, their bond now is one of mutual support and endless laughs. Ziting and Alyssa’s friendship began the moment Alyssa overheard her declare in their college dorms, "I just ate a whole pizza and I'm still hungry…" Alyssa knew instantly she had found a kindred spirit and a guaranteed source of laughter. Though the years have seen them living several states apart, they have maintained that close bond. In July 2025 Alyssa even flew all the way to China (along with her other bridesmaid, Shiyue) to celebrate Ziting's own wedding. Now, Ziting is here to share this milestone and bring her joyful energy to Alyssa's special day.

Shiyue’s adventurous spirit, sense of humor, and shared history make her an irreplaceable part of Alyssa’s life, and a perfect person to stand beside her on this day as they embark on this next great journey.

Emily, Alyssa’s sister and mother to Charlotte and Dylan, is our official "Bearer of the Ring Bearer" and "Herder of the Flower Girl." Her duties include ensuring Dylan (and the rings) safely reach the bride and groom, and making sure Charlotte completes her journey down the aisle without stopping to make too many new friends. It is a joy for Alyssa to have her sister, niece, and nephew play such a key role in her big day.

The most adorable—and perhaps the fastest—member of the wedding party is Alyssa’s nephew, Dylan! At just a year and a half old, his job is primarily to look cute, charm the crowd, and hopefully make it down the aisle with or without the rings. Keep an eye out for this tiny troublemaker, and enjoy his big smiles as he rolls (or crawls, or wobbles!) his way down the aisle!
