We're getting married!

Some love stories begin with a spark. Ours began with a lunch tray. Unbeknownst to Alyssa, her and Alex’s paths first crossed all the way back in seventh grade. They sat at the same lunch table and sang together in the same middle school choir — a pair of almost-strangers unknowingly starting the first chapter of a much bigger story. At the time, they were just two kids sharing a table, completely unaware that one day, they’d be sharing a life. Fast forward four years: a Snapchat message from a mutual friend suddenly reconnected their worlds — only this time, something clicked. What started as casual conversations quickly turned into something more. Their first date was filled with laughter and friendly competition at Main Event, followed by a classic high school football game at Lakota West. After the game, they stayed out talking for hours, losing track of time as they got to know each other. It was one of those nights that just felt easy, natural — like the beginning of something real. And it was. That first night led to more dates, more memories, and eventually a love that grew stronger with each passing year. Through the end of high school, college, and everything in between, Alyssa and Alex stayed by each other’s side. Their relationship wasn’t built overnight — it was built over years of late-night phone calls, small adventures, inside jokes, road trips, and a shared belief that this love was worth everything. Five years into their relationship, they planned a getaway with friends to Hocking Hills — a weekend full of nature, hiking, and quality time. But for Alex, this trip was more than just a retreat. He had a secret plan. After walking miles of winding trails, waiting for the perfect quiet moment, the two finally found a spot tucked away from the crowds. Right before the big moment, Alyssa tripped over a root (because of course she did), adding a mix of laughter and a few happy tears to the moment. Once she was back on her feet and the world calmed down, Alex took a breath, got down on one knee, and began with the most honest opening line he could think of: “I don’t really know what I’m supposed to say here…” It wasn’t rehearsed, or overly scripted. It was perfectly, wonderfully Alex. And in that beautifully imperfect moment, Alyssa said yes — without hesitation. A few short months and countless memories later, they officially moved into their first home together in April 2025. After some heartfelt convincing (and maybe just a few tears), Alex finally agreed to add another member to their family — a sweet little dog named Minnie, who quickly took over the house and their hearts. Now, as they stand on the edge of forever, Alyssa and Alex couldn’t be more excited for what comes next.
