Aarde & Alyssa were married on March 11, 2020 in a beautifully intimate ceremony, surrounded by family and close friends in Maui. Although their reception was canceled due to the pandemic, they are grateful for all the love they have received through these difficult times. Aarde and Alyssa’s relationship began like all great love stories, at a bar. The pair was first introduced by a friend in San Luis Obispo. Alyssa was not interested at the time, as she was then dating someone else, however Aarde knew from that night that she was the one. Aarde was patient and remained in contact with Alyssa as a “friend”. As many know, Alyssa is best friends with her mom and any man that wants to pursue Alyssa must win Stephanie over, which Aarde proceeded to do when be when he bought her a bottle of Laetitia sparkling Rose. The rest is history. Aarde and Alyssa tried long distance for awhile since Alyssa had recently moved to Orange County and Aarde was still in SLO. Aarde took a leap of faith and accepted a new opportunity in Los Angeles to be closer to Alyssa, leaving his position of 8 years with MindBody. Alyssa was the first to say I love you on the beach in Venice, CA (Aarde still can’t understand how she beat him to it). Over their relationship, Aarde and Alyssa have bonded over amazing wine, great food, and traveling all over. They are planning their honeymoon to Asia in December of 2020. They also both share the same love of dogs and have a little pup named Kynsi (named after their favorite winery in SLO). Aarde proposed to Alyssa in Venice, CA at the place they stayed when they both said I love you. The pair were joined by Alyssa’s parents, Stephanie and Paul and followed their engagement with a celebration at their favorite restaurant, Scopa. Since Alyssa & Aarde both share the same passion for travel and adventure, they have both decided to get married in Maui at a private ceremony surrounded by their closest family members.
