Matthew and Alyssa became best friends in their Junior year of high school at Butler. After a long school year of friendship and flirting, Alyssa let it slip to one of her teachers that she liked Matt without even knowing it. Who knew that, in a moment of stress and panic, saying "I need to talk to Matthew" would give her true feelings away. So, word got to Matt, and the rest was history. After graduating high school, Alyssa and Matthew attended different colleges and Matt started traveling nonstop for baseball. But, they made it through the time and miles apart by planning Tuesday lunch dates in between classes, and seeing each other whenever they could, even if it meant napping together (Matt played baseball and Alyssa worked night shift, so they were tired). Those college years were both exciting and exhausting, and they flew by in a blink. In January of 2024, Alyssa and Matthew were given the opportunity to renovate and move into their first home together. They treated this journey the way they plan to go about their marriage, with patience, love, and consideration. Oh, and with Alyssa getting her way 95% of the time. And finally, after a long, joyful, and exciting 6.5 years of dating, Matthew proposed on their first Christmas in their new home! It has been one of the most exciting seasons of their life by far, and they feel so lucky to have grown and changed alongside each other all of this time. They cannot wait to celebrate their marriage with their favorite people, and they look forward to all of the blessings that are yet to come!
