When Alyson and Andrew first met, neither were looking for a relationship, much less to find “the one”. Alyson was introduced to Andrew through her best friend, Rebecca, and her husband, Sky, who happened to be roommates with Andrew at the time. Long, late nights of talking on their porch turned into nonstop conversations and anime streaming nights. Over time, it became evident that Alyson and Andrew wanted to push each other to be the best version of themselves, something that could not happen with the other in their lives.
What was expected to be a birthday trip to Charleston for Alyson turned into a lifetime of adventures. Andrew had told her he wanted to take her to see the Angel Oak Tree on Johns Island, a 400+ year old tree that has survived seeing so many changes, lives, and eras, but she never expected him to get on one knee and ask the question that would change her life forever. He knelt down, took her hand, and said “I want to be with you for as long as this tree has been growing, and continues to grow” and pulled out the box holding one of her grandmother’s rings. Although the excitement left an absolute blur in her mind, Alyson immediately knew the answer was yes. Her heart would find his in every lifetime, on every adventure.
