It was a warm day in May of 2019 when Alysia and Ernando would have their lives changed forever. Music and kettle corn filled the air, baseball was back in season at Smith Park so the vibe was right. When Alysia heard Ernando would be playing near her house she seized her opportunity and walked to the park. As she approached, their eyes locked, Ernando right about had the wind knocked out of him mid song, Alysia couldn’t stop talking about this guy to her bestie that she almost forgot to listen to the music! She had no idea she’d be going to every single show after that day. Alysia made the first move and asked for his number which led him to asking her on their first date that lasted 8 hours! They felt they had known each other their whole lives, he couldn’t believe somebody would want to hang out with him that long and she couldn’t believe she could talk so long, yes Alysia talked! They soon learned they were once neighbors, school mates, and have crossed paths at different times in each others lives. They were always a block away and had no idea. Their friendship grew to a love unlike either has ever experienced, every date turned into everyday, if they worked that day then they followed each other to work, many gigs and Lazy Dog. Days turned to weeks which turned to months and wasting no time with a little Disney magic, he asked her to be his girlfriend in front of the Disneyland castle. From locking down together during covid months, to getting a puppy, to out of town adventures, to new jobs, struggles and challenges of life, they’ve both been each other’s biggest fans. 6 years and 3 dogs later they’re sealing the deal and finally getting their “Happily Ever After.” Ruth 1:16-17
