A beautiful horticultural site, open since 1952, this garden has become a local staple for tourism in the area. It's something you have to see for yourself.
A very neat historical site. The vacation home of Franklin Delano Roosevelt, built in 1932. He believed in the native myths that the local warm springs had healing properties, and he spent much time in this area in attempts to cure his polio. He loved this region so much that he decided to make it a semi-permanent part of his life. His influence and history can be seen all over Western Georgia; in Warm Springs and Pine Mountain, especially.
We planned on a trip here for well over a year. Once we finally made it happen, we knew we'd be back. Do yourself a favor and go see the largest aquarium in the US (2nd largest in the world!)
Coca-Cola was born here in Columbus, before its base of operations moved to Atlanta... it's quite the interesting story. Go experience all things Coca-Cola!
