Our first date had all the makings of a perfect night—twinkling Christmas lights, crisp December air, and easy conversation that made the time fly. We wandered through the Torrance holiday displays, taking in the magic of the season and the excitement of something new. Then, reality hit. We had no idea where the car was. At first, we laughed it off, convinced we’d find it in just a few minutes. But as those minutes stretched into an hour, the laughter turned into determination—then mild concern. Street after street looked the same, and no matter how many turns we took, the car was nowhere to be found. Eventually, we had to call an Uber to drive us around until, at last, we spotted it. As we said goodnight, we both secretly wondered if this disaster had ruined our chances of a second date. But the funny thing is, neither of us wanted the night to end. One date turned into another, and soon enough, we became inseparable. Looking back, getting lost that night was the best thing that ever happened to us.
