We officially met at a Christmas Sweater Party hosted at my house. JT was there because my roommate, Ashley, and her boyfriend, Drew, were best friends with JT. Ashley was setting me up with someone else that night so JT and I didn't do a lot of talking. In January my tail light went out and Drew noticed it. He told me and then told me he knew who could fix it, JT. I messaged him and he came to fix it. He realized the bulb he brought didn't fit so we had to go to Advanced Auto. Keep in mind it is late at night and we both just got off work. We got to the store and walked in the front door with no one in sight, grabbed what we needed, and headed to the front. As JT looked around for someone who worked there I looked up the hours just to be sure. Little did we know it closed an hour ago. We put cash on the counter and took the light bulb we needed. After that day the rest was history.
After a month of hanging out we grew closer and closer in a short amount of time, we quickly knew we wanted to be together. I had just gotten back from Conference for Old Dominion University's Swim and Dive team. We were in my room and he decided to play a song that he said reminded him of me. He played "You Make It Easy" by Jason Aldean. After it finished playing he told me why this song reminded him of me and asked me to be his girlfriend. Of course I said, "Yes!".
The first 7 months of 2019 included my second semester at Riverside, JT leaving for basic training in January, and I started a new job that would take up my entire summer and time. After JT returned at the end of July and I finished my summer job we decided to take a trip to the beautiful city of Charleston, S.C. Our second day there we walked around all of Charleston. One of our stops was the Pineapple Fountain. We got there and JT took pictures of me first, I then asked this lady if she could take pictures of JT and I. Little did I know, and our random photographer know, that he was going to propose. He asked me to marry him with a monologue in front of that of course, and I said, "YES!". Charleston, S.C. will now always hold a special place in our hearts.
