Gurur & Alycia

Alycia and Gurur’s engagement came as a surprise to Alycia. In January 2024, Gurur was eager to plan a trip to Dayton, Virginia in Shenandoah National Park so the pair could go to their favorite cabin house on the stream. We had been to the cabin a couple times before and it was always a special trip for us spent enjoying the quiet and outdoors away from the city. When Gurur suggested the cabin, the two took a few days off work at the end of January and hit the road. On Monday, January 29th, Gurur got down on one knee and popped the question. Alycia was overjoyed by the proposal :-). When they called Gurur’s parents to share the news, Alycia learned that he had picked the ring out with help from his parents in Turkey when the couple visited in August 2023, and he was just waiting for the right time to pop the question. When they called Alycia’s parents to share the news, they were so happy for the couple and very excited to welcome Gurur into the family.
