It's the first day of Alycia's dream internship at Half Yard Productions, creators of one of her favorite shows, "Say Yes to the Dress". Alycia gets to work early for her first day (a special rarity 😆) and very lost, walks up to the only person there (because he's always early!) Little did she know she was shaking hands with her future husband! Devin gets her a computer and helps her get set up. Nothing much happens after that for a while. A few months later, they end up sitting next to each other and as they talk they realize how similar they are to each other! And slowly secret crushes are developing. Devin and Alycia both leave the company around the same time, so on her second to last day of work, they make plans to grab a drink. This ended up being their unofficial first date! Devin and Alycia dated casually for a few months, and while they both really liked each other, life got in the way and they drifted apart.

After a few years, tragedy struck Devin's family when his father passed away unexpectedly. Alycia saw the news on Facebook and having lost her father as a teen, felt compelled to reach out to Devin, even though it had been a long time since they spoke. She sat in front of her computer for hours, debating if she should send a message. She closed her eyes, hit "Send", and it ended up being the message that would change both of their lives. Alycia and Devin started talking again, catching up on all they had missed, and made plans to hang out a few weeks later while Alycia was in Devin's area at an adult gymnastics camp. Devin came to pick her up from a camp BBQ, and as soon as they saw each other they realized the feelings they had for each other had never left. Alycia knew in that moment that even though they lived 2 hours apart from each other, she needed to keep seeing him as much as possible. They started hanging out about once a month, then more and more frequently, until a few months later they were seeing each other every weekend. On January 26, 2017 they FINALLY decided to make their relationship official.

After waiting for what felt like forever, Devin finally proposed to Alycia on June 18, 2021. Devin's friend (and groomswoman) Nikki had made plans with Alycia to have a girls night and do makeup and watch gymnastics. Devin had told Alycia he was getting dinner with his mom that night, and asked if he could play video games in her home office while waiting for his mom to arrive. After a little while he told Alycia that he was heading downstairs to let his mom in. He then texted Nikki and told her to tell Alycia he had left his phone in the office. Alycia went to go grab it and noticed the windows were wide open. Suddenly she noticed that outside the window, down on the sidewalk, Devin was singing to her! He sang "From Now On" from The Greatest Showman, their first movie date and one of their favorites. When he was finished, he held up posters (a la "Love Actually" style), letting Alycia know how much her love makes him feel like he can conquer the world and "To Me, You Are Perfect", before getting down on one knee. Alycia was so excited that this moment was finally happening, she sprinted down the hallway and outside to give Devin a loving embrace. He again got down on one knee and Alycia happily said yes! #LeeshSaysYesToTheDev
