Aly arrived at The Star in Frisco for what she thought was just an innocent Homecoming game for Wakeland HS against Lebanon Trail HS. Little did she know that over the previous months Benji had coordinated with the Lebanon Trail Band Staff, Wakeland Band Staff, Lebanon Trail Administration, The Star media team, and literally HUNDREDS of band kids to finally pop the question. Staged as a "picture for instagram", Benji got down on one knee to a background of Lebanon Trail drummers holding drum heads spelling out "Marry Me?" and the Wakeland band blasting Aly's favorite stand tune, "Hey Baby!" Needless to say she was surprised as the couple was cheered on by thousands of football fans on both sides of the field. Wakeland won the game but it certainly wasn't the most memorable part of the night.

A simple question for a ride to the airport started it all! Benji and Aly met after teaching a Drum Corps Camp in Nashville, Tennessee. After a debatable "Who slid into who's DM'S", Benji and Aly spent a full year dating long-distance through the Covid-19 Pandemic. After multiple trips back and forth from Texas and Indiana and many many Face-Time Dates, Aly made the move to Dallas, Texas. Since then, the two have lived happily with their two chaotic dogs: Scout and Kekoa.
