We're Getting Married!

Once upon a frosty December night on New Year’s Eve 2022, Ashton and Alyah crossed paths by being introduced by mutual friends. They became best of friends right away, talking all night long and sharing a mutual love of sarcastic humor. Little did they know that a simple introduction in the cold night would keep them warm for years to come. Their first date was at a charming little Italian spot, where both of them laughed so much their belly hurt and realized after hours of conversation, they barely touched their food. Although.. They did realize how many empty espresso martini glasses were on the table. Whoops! They started dating after a few more visits, diving into the adventure of a long-distance relationship. They were at different colleges 366 miles away, but they would drive home any chance they got. Ashton would come home every weekend in the summer after football practice and during his last semester of college, Alyah would be the first one to put in her work schedule so she could make the drive to see him every two weeks. It wasn’t always easy, but they managed to laugh through the distance and cherish the time they had with each other. Then came a twist in the story– after 6 months of dating they found out they were blessed with a baby girl. And at that moment, their relationship changed. They were not scared nor worried about the future. Instead, they prayed and prayed and prayed together. Prayed for God to be in the center of their relationship, the center of their family and the center of their home. And on August 14th, 2024, they welcomed their baby girl, Lilah Claire Wright. From then on, their days became filled with the little things they’d been missing–turning mundane chores into shared adventures, the coos and laughs of a happy baby, hearing mama and dada at the end of a long day, the toys found in between the couch cushions or better yet, in their shoes in the morning! On August 13th, the day before Lilah’s first birthday, Ashton decided it was the perfect time for a grand gesture. Alyah thought they were taking their family portraits, when Ashton got down on one knee and popped the question. Spoiler alert: Alyah said YES! They’ve weathered the highs and lows, from the countless long drives and late night phone calls to the midnight newborn feedings and chasing down a toddler. Now, they’re gearing up for their happily ever after. Mark your calendars for December 2025– because that’s when Ashton and Alyah will say “I do” and begin the next chapter of their love story, side by side in holy matrimony.
