Other hotels/airbnbs advice

For those of you looking at other hotels, airbnbs or villas, here are our suggestions of areas to stay in: • We love the area of Gardens, near the Iziko South African Museum. It’s walking distance to lots of restaurants and bars, and feels much more local than touristy. • Green point / Sea Point are very local and by the water. There's lots to do, tennis courts near by for a quick game and plenty of places to go out in the area. • We suggest avoiding central CBD. • The waterfront is beautiful, but it is busy with tourists, so the prices will be higher. • Camps Bay is also very popular and by the water (which is freezing 😂), but also quite touristy so prices may be a bit higher.

Making the most of South Africa

We know a lot of you will be making the most of your trip, and planning excursions to the vineyards, safaris, further out in SA or perhaps neighbouring countries. We're planning to team up with a tour operator to help you plan your trip. Watch this space for more info.

Driving Around Cape Town

The easiest way to get around in a car is with Uber. It's super easy to get a car and they are extremely affordable. Hiring cars is very straight forward as well. You can do this at the airport directly, through booking.com or directly in a car rental shop throughout the CBD and/or the waterfront. If you're planning a day in the vineyards, we would suggest arranging a driver or taxi to bring you back, as it's a bit more difficult to get an Uber in Franschhoek or Stellenbosch. If you're looking for a private driver, get in touch.
