February is a high travel season in Kona, so we recommend securing your accommodations at least 4-6 months in advance. On the "Travel" page, we have listed our hotel booking block instructions for Royal Kona Resort in the heart of "Kona town".
The reception will be outdoors on the beach, so it's important to plan ahead for the temperature! Typically, Kona is warm and sunny with highs in the mid-80s. At night it cools to the low-70's so if you are prone to be cold, bring a light layer!
Yes, there is plenty of free parking at Kona Sea Salt Farm.
Yes, we are planning to provide round trip shuttle service on the wedding day, Saturday, for those staying at Royal Kona Resort. Our wedding planner recommends Kona Taxi Cab (808) 324-4444 for any transportation that you wish to book ahead from other locations. Please note that ride shares like Uber and Lyft are not always available, so Kona Taxi Cab is a good option if you aren't staying at the Royal Kona Resort.
Casual beach wedding attire. Bust out the aloha shirts, nice slippahs, and Fighting Eel (for the local elder millenials). Can be an outfit that's nice enough to take pictures in, but comfortable enough to have fun on the dance floor! For shoes, please note that the ceremony will be near the ocean, with lots of sand. Flats, platforms, or chunky heels may be the best footwear options. For out of towners, feel free to reach out to Alyson and Alex directly for additional recommendations.
Teenagers 16 years of age and older are welcome. While we love kids, the venue is not great for young children or toddlers. There is a steep drop off near the ocean and can be unsafe for youngsters when it gets very dark, so we can only welcome those aged 16 and up.
