After moving to Florida from Alaska, Garrett accepted a job that brought him to the east coast. There he went "bumbling" only to find the profile of Alyson a hockey loving ex-Minnesotan. But he quickly made up for it with conversation and they found themselves meeting at a brewery, eating McDonalds in a random park and braving her protective brother on the first date. Hurricane Ian landed in Florida and left Alyson alone to prep the house and deal with the 2 broken generators and 3 dogs. Garrett came to the rescue, and while braving the storm together, even without power they fell in love. Valentine's Day the following year Garrett gifted Kylo (Alyson's Aussie) a brother- puppy named Sully. They all lived happily ever after.
