Question

WE ARE HAVING TROUBLE USING THE WEBFORM TO RSVP!

Answer

Its ok! Technology is sometimes a bummer. Try searching just your first name or shoot us an email at makingmunianmoves@gmail.com to confirm your attendance and the corresponding events you will be attending.

Question

Can I bring a date or extra friend?

Answer

We have strict guest guidelines due to the NYS guidelines. Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.

Question

What should I wear to both events? Is there a dress code?

Answer

Indian weddings are very festive and colorful. For the Indian Wedding ceremony, you can choose to join in the experience and wear traditional clothing like a saree or lehenga for women and Kurta for men. If you are a bit lost on where to search for Indian attire, here are two websites we recommend to get a sense of your options: www.utsavfashion.com https://www.panashindia.com Make sure to use the size chart and keep in mind of the shipping time as often they ship from India. You can also find stores selling Indian outfits (especially in the NY/NJ area). The dress code for the reception is semi-formal/cocktail attire. Please note that the reception will take place outdoors, so please dress accordingly. Feel free to contact the bride or the groom for additional questions.

Question

What is a Baraat and can I join in?

Answer

You may have seen Indian wedding clips of a groom riding on an elephant or a horse and may be wondering why is everyone dancing in the parking lot? This is the first part of the wedding called Baraat. The Baraat is the arrival of the groom on the day of the wedding. First, the groom follows the procession of guests to the venue. When the groom’s procession arrives at the venue, the bride’s family greets them. It is the groom's one chance to be the center of attention before the bride steals the show! Groom is ultimately welcomed by the bride's mother and she blesses her future son-in-law. We hope that you can join in!

Question

Will there be food at both the Hindu Ceremony and Reception day?

Answer

Yes! During the Hindu ceremony, light snacks and refreshments will be available. Directly after the ceremony, there will be vegetarian food served. For the Reception day, there will be various appetizers and drinks served during the cocktail hour. For dinner, there will be a mix of entrees served buffet style.

Question

What happens after the Wedding ceremony on Sunday?

Answer

Following the Christian ceremony, guests can head straight to the cocktail section where there will be live music and refreshments.

Question

What should I expect at the reception? Will there be dancing? What type of music will there be?

Answer

The reception will be a fun party with lots of food and drinks! Be sure to bring your best pair of dancing shoes because there will be a ton of dancing that will take place! Expect to hear a variety of music genres! In terms of dancing, don't worry if you are not a master Bollywood dancer and are not comfortable learning new dances, dance along to the beat and dance to your own rhythm, and you will have fun! There will also be an extremely talented live steel pan player who will most definitely set the summer vibe!

Question

Are there any other wedding events I can attend?

Answer

Yes! Following the Hindu ceremony on July 3, there will be an evening gathering at the Parmesar residence to celebrate if you'd like to join us!

Question

Are there any hotel block reservations? Is there an Airbnb around the area?

Answer

Yes! Please refer to the travel tab on this website for hotel blocks. If you prefer to stay at a hotel, you have the option to book from two hotels. If you are looking to book an Airbnb, please be advised that you will come across house locations ~20-30 minutes away. Most cities located in Orange County are similarly distanced, so this is expected. However, the city of Newburgh, Montgomery, Middletown, or even Monroe would be the closest distance to the Parmesar Residence.

Question

I still have questions, what is the best way to contact you?
