On February 23, 2021, a simple Instagram DM changed everything. Alvin slid into Eugene’s DM’s, both of them certain it was just a casual conversation that would fade. Instead, it sparked something steady and unexpected daily texts, late-night phone calls, and miles logged between Fayetteville, NC and Columbia, SC, even after Alvin’s move to Greensboro. For two and a half years, distance never stood a chance. Month after month, they chose each other through work schedules, school demands, and life’s curveballs. Over five years, their love grew deeper rooted in faith, prayer, honesty, and a shared vision of what life together could be. There was laughter, unforgettable meals, international travel, family moments, and above all, God at the center of it all. After Alvin’s graduation in May 2023, they took a leap of faith and moved to Charlotte, NC, beginning a new chapter filled with challenges, growth, and deeper understanding. Somewhere along the way, Eugene knew—Alvin was his forever. With the help of family and friends, Eugene planned an elegant engagement dinner, and on July 11, 2025, he asked the love of his life to walk forever by his side. 💍❤️
