With the blessing of God and our parents: Loren Guadalupe & Luis Manuel Rodarte and Mirna & Jorge Herrera we are getting married!

Our story began at a park on Pendale Road... We were two strangers about to meet each other for the first time at a playground. It sounds a bit sketchy, I know, but let me tell you how we got there. We met by none other than Bumble, the dating app. I, Alva, was pretty persistent on finding someone who was Catholic, but didn’t want to force anything. Michael happened to put he was Catholic on his profile which made me slide right on him (even though he’s not my usual type Jaja) We talked and hit it off as he was funny and charming so we decided to continue along the park. He had brought his dog Bruno, and I, being a dog lover, knew this was a good sign! We laughed as we walked, and even played like little kids for about three hours until he had to leave to get his sleep for work the following day. For me, (the future hubby) the order in which everything occurred leading up to us meeting each other was nothing short of a great blessing. I was about to meet the love of my life without knowing it at the time but I had a really good feeling about her. Yes, we initially met on the dating app which kicked everything off. I wanted to come off as “interesting” and made up a tiny, little lie about being a proficient dog trainer when in reality, I’ve only been successful at training one of my dogs, Bruno. Now, before you go and judge, I’ll let you know that is one good heck of a disciplined dog okay? Haha. Anywho, that tiny, little lie gave me a pretty good shot at meeting her in person which was my ultimate goal. Prior to Alva, I was starting my life away from my parents, giving the independent life a try. Everyone knows that life is pretty lonesome and sad at times. I knew I wanted to commit and share my life with someone who shared the same values and ideals. To be completely honest, prior to Alva, I didn’t have much luck on the app and was very intrigued with her based on her biography and cute pictures. Her background with the Catholic Church made me feel safe about her and knew she would be a positive influence in my life, which is all I had prayed for. So, we chatted after both swiping right on each other, planned to meet at the Park on Pendale Rd. and the rest is a beautiful memory.
