High Class Bougie Glamorous Camping - essentially it’s a way to experience nature and the great outdoors without giving up all of the amenities that civilized nations have enjoyed for centuries. You get to “camp” while sleeping on a king sized bed, in AC conditions with running water & a full kitchen. Once you go Glamping, you may never go Camping again, haha

Wedding: Cocktail Attire - please note the pathways to the ceremony/reception site are gravel, so plan to carry those fancy “Red Bottoms” in with you and put them on once you arrive. We will have shoe cubbies to store travel shoes. For our guests staying at Walden Retreats, please plan to depart your yurts 15mins prior to the start of the ceremony For our guests residing at Carter Creek, there is a 15min drive to Walden Creek, so we recommend departing 30mins prior to the start of the ceremony. For Carter Creek guests without a vehicle, the shuttle will depart at 5:30pm

Fall season in Hill Country, TX is warm during the day and cool at night, so we recommend a light wrap to cover bare shoulders and sunglasses for the outdoor ceremony & a light jacket/sweater during the evenings.
The ceremony is planned to be held outdoors, with the reception to take place indoors
We will be providing food for the following events: Meet & Greet Mixer - small bites and appetizers Saturday Morning - continental breakfast Saturday Evening - hors d’oeuvres and sit down buffet dinner The yurts at Walden Retreats contain a full kitchen, so guests are welcome to purchase groceries to suit their other food needs. There are also restaurants throughout Johnson City as well. Carter Creek has onsite dining options for guests and visitors to enjoy
Hors d’oeuvres will be served during cocktail hour (standard & vegetarian), followed by a buffet style sit down dinner containing meats, sides, and veggies. Please indicate any dietary restrictions along with your RSVP (e.g. allergies, vegetarian, etc)
- Rental car is suggested. - Uber/Lyft will transport you from the airport to the hotel, but likely will be unable to secure a return ride back to the airport - Shuttle service will be provided to/from Carter Creek/Walden Retreats at select times for each event for those who do not have a rental car - please see “travel” section for details - Return shuttle service will be provided to the Austin airport for those who do not have a rental car - please see “travel” section for details
Walden Retreats: The property is a 96 acre piece of private land along the Pedernales River. Activities include exploring our hiking and biking trails, swimming in the river, fishing (you must bring your own pole), and canoeing Carter Creek: Winery, Brewery, Dining, Spa, Outdoor Activities

We kindly ask that you keep our wedding ceremony "unplugged" and refrain from taking any photos or videos at our ceremony. We want our guests to truly be in the moment with us during this special occasion, and for our photographers to have the proper environment to capture the moment. Guests are welcome to take photos/video during cocktail hour/reception Personal photo/video/social media posts of events outside of the ceremony are acceptable and encourage

There will be an open bar for guests to enjoy throughout cocktail hour and the reception; however, we do recommend bringing cash along to tip your bartenders. BYOB is encouraged for our guests who want to “keep the party going” after the reception!
