Matron of Honor
1997 was the year we first met at St. John Lutheran Church & School. Through all the drama, laughter, and tears that grade school, middle school, high school, and college brought us, our friendship only grew stronger. We became more than sisters in every way possible. Now we are starting twenty+ years of friendship and laughing our way through life (it's what we do best!)
Bridesmaid
From not liking me when she met me, to being the three best friends with Neshwa and her husband Atik, our bond could never be broken. Four years of college, three of those living together, made us realize how much we actually liked each other. We took care of each other (Neshwa taking more care of me) and became a part of each others families. She's my little sister in every sense of the word! She's my roomie for life no matter where life may take us.
Best Man
I met Ahmed in criminal justice class learning how to "fight crime". Separated for a year, we met again through the friendship of Haidar (my other Best Man). We later decided to make a big change in our lives and moved to Chicago from Michigan. We became roommates and started exploring the city! Our discussions about life lasted for hours, especially when we were chillin' and smokin' hookahs.
Best Man
Back in 1999, this fella became my first friend when my family moved to the United States from Iraq. Not only did he become my best friend, but he was also my translator. Transitioning schools was difficult, but we stuck together through thick and thin. Even though we are hundreds of miles apart now, we still get into crazy adventures.
Groomsman
Thankfully Timmy and I have similar taste in friends, because our clique is what brought us together. Timmy became my best fishing friend. He's always up for crazy late night adventures and ready to travel the world. He's my go-to person to call on my long drives back to Michigan. He also has one of the biggest hearts and is always willing to help anyone. What more could a guy want from a "brotha from anotha motha"?
