We met in the fall of 2013 at Florida State University. Daniel was working in the kitchen at Alex's sorority house and both of us happened to be accounting majors - a true modern day romance. Shockingly, sparks wouldn't fly for us for a few more years. Daniel would tell you he asked Alex on their first date in 2015, to which Alex maintains was not actually a real date (mostly because she brought a friend - oops!) Fast-forward a bit, Daniel convinced Alex to interview at the same accounting firm he had recently accepted an internship with. Alex ended up landing the same internship 6 months later, which led to us both accepting full-time job offers there post-grad, and eventually beginning adult life together in Atlanta — unintentionally, but conveniently, side-by-side. Thursdays quickly became an excuse for us to try every chicken wing place ATL had to offer, and on February 14, 2019, Daniel decided to make things official (at Wild Wing Café, of course) & that was that. We moved to Nashville later that same year and promptly ended up trapped together in an 800 square ft. apartment during a global pandemic - cute! Although we somehow lived to tell the tale, one post-holiday Florida-to-Nashville marathon drive with Champ and Punkin in tow was all it took for us to realize we probably needed to live closer to our families (and beaches). So in late 2021, we loaded down a U-Haul & made the drive back to the Sunshine State. We spent a brief stint in Tampa, but quickly made the move over to St. Pete, specifically Redington Beach where Alex had grown up visiting with family. We fell in love with the little beach house we were renting, ended up buying it one year later, & went on to spend our weekends fixing it up (or parking our asses in the sand & ignoring our growing list of projects - don't judge). In January 2024, during a ski trip to Steamboat Springs, CO with some of our best friends, Daniel proposed. We began planning a spring 2025 wedding, that was up until miss hurricane Helene had something to say about it. Wedding plans temporarily took a backseat, but after almost 2 years of being engaged, we've finally set a date! We can't wait to celebrate with everyone that's been a part of our story - from Tallahassee to Redington and everywhere in between.
