Adrienne and I met at LCBC’s youth group, but we never realized we had both grown up at the same church since 3rd grade. It wasn’t until high school that our paths finally crossed—Adrienne was in 11th grade, and I was in 12th. I immediately thought she was so pretty, with her long brown hair and standing at just 5 feet tall. Long story short, I asked her out for our first date on 12.26.18, and that’s where it all began!

Adrienne and I had been dating for six years, and with her college journey coming to a close, I knew it was time to finally propose. I arranged a private plane ride with a local airport and told her I had won it in a golf tournament—she totally bought it, haha. Before the flight, I asked the pilot to take a picture of us in front of the plane. That’s when I got down on one knee and proposed right there on the tarmac. After she said yes, we took off for an hour-long flight, and as we flew over my parents’ house, she saw a 40' by 40' heart I had painted in the backyard—with all our family standing inside it, cheering us on. It was truly a day to remember!
