Disco Volante (Pizzeria)
Our go to date spot when we crave pizza (which is often!). Very good vibes, amazing pizza, good beer and great Italian cocktails!
Pizza Bussi Ciao (Pizzeria)
Concise pizza menu but everything is good here, also espresso martinis!
XO Grill 1050 (Burgers)
Our favorite (smash) burgers, nice natural wine list and some good Negronis! No frills and close to the famous Naschmarkt. Great for a quick stop and refreshment!
Restaurant Meissl & Schadn Wien (Schnitzel Restaurant)
Best schnitzel hands down, we‘ve been here so many times and cured some proper hangovers! For this place definitely book a table, you can do it easily online! Our recommendation: Wiener Schnitzel in Butterschmalz with potato salad and cucumber salad as sides, Preiselbeeren
Glacis Beisl (Traditional Austrian Restaurant)
A very good Schnitzel, overall great Austrian food at not a bad price (specially for the location) & super wine list! Very nice outdoor seating available, again booking is strongly recommendable.
Zum alten Fassl (Traditional Austrian Restaurant)
As typical as it gets with a unique old Viennese flair, nice traditional plates but order rather beer than wine! This was Falco‘s (Absolute Austrian Icon) favorite Beisl as he lived in the same building for some time
Reznicek (Austrian Restaurant)
Very nice small restaurant (booking in advance necessary), serving typical Austrian dishes with a unique twist. Nice and concise wine list and famous for the cordon bleu (basically a stuffed schnitzel).
Kikko Bā (Restaurant)
Where it all began- the restaurant we had our first date! ❤️Modern Asian sharing plates & nice wine list with plenty of natural wine options! Get the portabella Sando if available! Afterwards you can go for some ice cream as dessert at Schelato on the same street!
MAST Weinbistro (Wine focused restaurant)
Where we celebrated our first month together with plenty of wine and the sharing menu! Known for their great wine list and well crafted dishes.
Mraz & Sohn (Fine dining restaurant)
A two michelin star restaurant, necessary to book in advance but certainly worth it. Where we have spent 2 of Alonso's birthdays as we always have a lot of fun there, with a very creative (and tasteful) tasting menu and a very good wine pairing. If you book and its full, write yourself down for the waitlist.
Zum Schwarzen Kameel (Cafe/Bar)
A Vienesse staple, located in the heart of the first district and walking distance from the cathedra. Great place to have a snack and a refreshing drink while sitting in the terrace. Famous for the sharing schnitzel and the finger sandwiches that have to be chosen inside.
Brasserie Palmenhaus Wien (Beer/Spritzer stop)
Also part of our first date and centrally locater - have some spritzer in the sun ☀️ and watch people, food is nothing super special but just located in one of the nicest green spaces of the city.
The Bank Brasserie & Bar (Restaurant)
Located within the Grand Hyatt hotel, one of the most beautiful in the city, it used to be an old bank and the vibe certainly remains. Great place for dinner and during summer they used to open a terrace in cooperation with Champagne Bollinger, great place to stop and have a sip of Champagne!
Café Kandl (Wine Bar)
Nice little hipster wine bar, with an extensive wine list and cool vibes. Prices aint bad!
WEIN & CO Wien – Weinbar & Shop
Wein & Co is one of the most famous wine shops all over Austria, many branches around, so a great place to start tasting Austrian wine and also buy some bottles to take home!
Die Rundbar (Wine bar & Restaurant)
Owned by the main importer and distributor of natural wine in Austria, expect funky and natural wines. Food is also offered and really good, maybe a bit pricey but very cool and relaxed place to visit. Call in advance to book a table, if possible in the terrace!
