#HowWeMet

First came the swipe, then comes marraige

We met the same way many people used to meet in the good old days... online. Exactly which site we met on is still a matter of debate in our household, but needless to say it was a match divinely made. Unbeknownst to us, Bunmi (one of my bridesmaid) dreamt that 2016 was the year I was meant to meet my match. Whether we call it a vision or a premonition, she saw me walking down the aisle to meet the man of my dreams this year. Lo and behold, three days later I would swipe right on this guy named Travis. It all started at our local brew house over a variety of ales, sours and, of course, some fries. He was pretty good at courting me. A way to a (Wo)Man's heart is her stomach. He took me to all the local places for food, drinks, and more. We were able to explore the best that Baltimore had to offer as we got to know each other better. I took a very big gamble on him and he took a very small gamble on me all the same. Needless to say, through comedy shows, beer fests, wine festivals, and baseball games we fell more and more in love. And in earnest, as they say, the rest is history!

#TheProposal

Tallest mountain in Massachusetts

So as many of you know… I am horrible at surprises. I love to be in the know and even though Travis knows this too, he did his best to keep me guessing. Fortunately, on this occasion he did that indeed. It was my 30th birthday weekend and Travis took me to his family's summer house in Western Mass. We spent the weekend enjoying wine and the beautiful scenery. He took me to the cutest Inn on my birthday where we had an amazing dinner and he surprised me with the largest box ever. And inside this box, was another box. And inside that box, was… a big… purse. Gotcha didn't I. Well he got me too. He got me the most beautiful purse to easily distract me for the rest of the weekend. Then, the next day we packed a beautiful picnic lunch and we headed up to #MtGreylock. We had spent some time there last year and had seen an amazing Jazz band at the top of the mountain in the mountain top lodge. This time we sat at the top of the mountain and had a great picnic lunch, where Travis feeding me crab that he was cracking by hand. At the end of the meal, he went to wash his hands, and when he returned, out of the blue Travis wanted to take a photo. We hadn't taken many this trip, so I wasn't all that surprised. He found an unknown walker on the trail to take our photo. To both her and my surprise, on his way back down to create a fabulous pose for the first shot of the trip, he got down on one knee.... and well this one really is history. All I remember is that I said #YES!!!
