How We Met

January 2013

Cameron entered Christine's life through the front door of her condo in Mammoth, along with a few of their mutual friends from ski school who'd come over to watch football. Over the course of the winter they became friends. That changed nine months later, when Cameron visited some friends in San Francisco for Oktoberfest. Christine was working in the Bay Area at the time, and he invited her to come along for the festivities. Sparks flew, and they've been together ever since.

The Middle

Then - Now

Christine and the Cameron's relationship grew while they both lived in Mammoth for the 2013-2014 winter season. When spring came and their jobs pulled them in opposite directions--Cameron to Northern California and Christine to San Diego--they decided to try long distance. It wasn't an easy summer, but it was worth it. They realized they had something strong and special that couldn't be broken by dropped phone calls or not being able to see each other for months at a time. In fact, all the road trips and plane flights made for great adventures that brought them closer. By autumn, they'd fallen in love. After that, long distance was easy. (Which is lucky, since the majority of Christine and Cameron's relationship operated over a distance due to various work and school commitments.) However, in December 2016, they finally ended up in the same town again when Cameron was offered a job by San Diego City Fire Department. They happily discovered they liked this arrangement even better.

The Proposal

September 30, 2017

Cameron took Christine out to dinner at Mr. A's restaurant downtown, located on the top of a skyscraper with a view overlooking San Diego's skyline and airport. As the sun set, the city lights turned on, and planes continued to descend past them on the flight path, Cameron got down on one knee and put his grandmother's ring on Christine's finger. We're so excited for this next adventure. Thank you for being a part of it with us. Can't wait to see you at our wedding in a few months when we make it official!
