Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Davina Ramirez and Vince Ruiz
Maui's various attractions and activities cater to just about every interest. In Maui, there is an expression that leaves little up for translation. “Maui no ka oi,” means: “Maui is the best.” And, for those who visit this Hawaiian Island, this expression couldn’t be more true. Please take a peek at some activities the Bride & Groom have planned. If you would like to join in on the fun, please save accordingly.
Front Street

Front Street

Front Street, HI

Lahaina has over a thousand years of rich history, and was the capital of the Kingdom of Hawaii from 1820 to 1845. From beaches to restaurants, Lahaina has some of the best attractions Maui has to offer. Lahaina's Front Street has been ranked one of the "Top Ten Greatest Streets" by the American Planning Association. Enjoy a relaxing stroll, and if rest is needed, please take a break under the massive Banyan tree located in the town square.

Haleakalā National Park

HI

Every year, more than a million tourists visit Haleakala National Park, home to the world's largest dormant volcano. The entire park occupies 30,000 acres of land in Upcountry Maui, though most visitors focus on a few specific areas of the park. Of course, there's the mountain: Haleakala's summit stands more than 10,000 feet above sea level (in fact, you can see it from any point on the island). A fairly winding road (Route 378) will lead you to the top. Be sure to wear warm layers, the air up top is thin and chilly.

Road To Hana

Road To Hana

Hana Highway, Kahului, HI 96732

To find excellent views of Maui's beautiful coastline, all you need to do is drive. The Road to Hana is a scenic highway that twists through the lush rainforest and past the cascading waterfalls that line the island's eastern shore. Travelers are regularly surprised by the drive's beauty. The Road to Hana might seem short, but traveling it will most likely take all day given the number of scenic lookouts and other places to stop. Those who have driven the Road to Hana highly recommend taking your time and stopping as often as possible. Reviewers also recommend starting your drive early in the morning, as the road grows congested as the day progresses. There are several notable photo opportunities along the way. Since the trip will take you awhile, pack snacks and a cooler with drinks. Also, some travelers note that the winding route can weak havoc on those prone to motion sickness – make sure to take it slow and allow for plenty of time outside the car.

Waianapanapa State Park

Waianapanapa, Hana, HI 96713

Waianapanapa State Park, located just off the Hana Highway on the outskirts of Hana, is very unique indeed. Comprised of 120 tropical acres, it has many a sight to see. A seabird colony, natural stone arches, sea stacks; ancient lava caves, hidden blowholes, anchialine pools and panoramic vistas. The proper Hawaiian spelling is Wai’anapanapa which literally means “glistening water”. When you see those illuminated waters on a sunny day, you’re sure to notice how striking they are in contrast to the pitch black basalt rocks —and of course the black sand beach. You will be in complete awe.

Old Lahaina Luau

Old Lahaina Luau

1251 Front Street, Lahaina, HI 96761

The Old Lahaina Luau is one of the most popular things to do for first-time Maui visitors; those who have taken in the show highly recommend devoting an evening to this luau in particular for a fun intro to Hawaiian culture. While you admire the performers' hula and fire dancing skills, you'll dine on Hawaiian specialties, such as kalua pua'a (pork roasted in an underground oven), fresh mahi-mahi and poi (mashed taro plant). The Bride & Groom will be attending The Old Lahaina Luau following the ceremony. If you would like to join them & continue the celebration please see the pricing below. Luau Prices pay at the door: Adults (13 and up) $120 + tax = $125.00 Children (3 – 12Yrs) $75 + tax = $78.12 Highchair Infant (0-2 Yrs) FREE

Black Rock Beach

Black Rock Beach

Lahaina, HI 96761

Black Rock was formed from one of the last-gasp lava flows on this side of the island. The Hawai’ian name for Black Rock is Pu’u Keka’a, and ancient Hawaiians believed that this was the place where their spirits went to jump off to join ancestors forever. Unlucky souls who could not be shown the way by their family ‘aumakua (guardian animal spirit), would wander and attach themselves to rocks in the area. This is likely where the “it is bad luck to take a Hawai’ian lava rock” superstition comes from. Snorkeling and diving are also excellent all around this point.
