When hunting for some Saturday night shenanigans on February 6th, 2021, Deanna found herself out with a few friends. A distant acquaintance of Matt’s in the group noticed he was in town playing and rallied everyone to Big Tuna's Bar and Grill in Lexington, SC. Deanna was instantly dazzled by Matt’s musical chops, but despite her awe, her shyness kept her to a simple, "Hi!" (It was a Grammy-worthy hello, though.) Thanks to some classic matchmaking (and a little bit of sneakiness), Deanna’s number magically ended up in Matt’s phone—without either of them being the wiser. Matt wasted no time and sent his first text on February 9th, 2021, boldly requesting a dinner date. Sparks flew instantly, and they planned their first real-life meetup, even though Matt was marooned in Dallas for work training. Mother Nature, however, wasn’t having it—Dallas got snowed in and all travel was canceled. Undeterred, these two became texting legends, racking up over 1,600 messages, and, despite Deanna’s aversion to phone calls, clocking in 60+ hours on the phone. If there were Olympics for virtual dating, they’d have taken home the gold! Deanna and Matt finally leveled up to a real-life date on March 6th, 2021, and it was epic! They celebrated a friend’s birthday at a local axe-throwing spot, where Deanna scored her first of many game-night victories—while Matt, well, let's just say his steak-loving skills were put to the test. They wasted no time diving into their relationship, making it #Facebook official on March 22nd, 2021, and just two days later, Matt decided it was time to declare his love. Spoiler alert: Deanna did not file a restraining order! Instead, she reciprocated faster than anyone could say “axe-cellent!” Since then, they've been on a whirlwind adventure together, collecting memories like stamps in a passport. Every day, they grow stronger, proving that love can thrive amidst the chaos! They’re both looking forward to all the hilarious, love-filled escapades waiting for them after they tie the knot!
