Maid of Honor
Mel Angelo is the older sister to the groom, Stephen Angelo. Having just graduated with her master’s from the University of Southern Mississippi, Mel is living in Chicago pursuing her career as an actor. Her favorite memory of the Bride is their most recent trip to Florida, spending a week at the beach with their family. “Lauren was always coming up with new adventures for us. Every time I would turn the corner, she magically had concocted some new cocktail for me to try. Drink in hand, the two of us would float these giant duck and flamingo floaties out to sea, holding hands and trying not to fall off (she did much better than me). I got to spend some time with just her and she showed me how loving of a sister she is. I can’t wait till we make it official!”
Best Man
Matthew is the groom's older brother. He is currently a Captain in the United States Army stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas, with the 1st Combat Aviation Brigade. “After 25 years, I’m surprised to say that Stephen is still alive... between his lack of common sense or his knack for pissing me off as my younger brother, it really is a miracle that he’s made it this far. Needless to say, with his gained maturity over the past few years, he’s transitioned from a pain in my ass to one of my best friends. I wish him the best of luck, all the possible happiness with his bride-to-be, and a safe return home from Afghanistan.”
Bridesmaid
Morgan, is the brides older sister. Having recently become a mom to a sweet baby girl, Aspyn Renae, Morgan had been juggling motherhood as well as working at Kids Academy (going on her second year!). Her and her boyfriend are raising their daughter and making a better life for their family. "My favorite memory of Lauren and I growing up was traveling across the globe and being able to experience the world around us. There's nothing like your very first best friend to experience life in another country with."
Groomsman
Jon is a blackhawk pilot currently living in Denver. He met the groom in flight school. His favorite memories with Steve include the long talks they would have lying out in hammocks, drinking scotch and smoking cheap cigars; blasting music in the kitchen while wearing their new flight helmets; and having dinner at Grandma's (Stephen's) house. “Stephen has never failed to make everyone feel as though they are part of his family. His ability to make them feel like the most important person in the room shows that Lauren has truly gotten “one of the good ones”. The way he cares for everyone proves that he would do anything and everything for her, and I can’t wait to see them officially tie the knot. I’m excited to stand next to my brother and be a part of this special moment in their lives.”
Bridesmaid
Courtney is Stephen’s Sister-in-law, married to Matthew. She lives in Manhattan, KS with her husband and daughter. She is a SNAP-Ed Nutrition Educator for Kansas State University. “I met Lauren through Stephen many years ago. My favorite memories with Lauren were formed when we were all station together at Ft Rucker a few years ago. On the weekdays, we would alternate hosting dinner and games. She would invite me over to meet her foster kittens and even let me ride her horse! I miss living near each other as it had the comfort of family. I am happy for Stephen and Lauren to transition into this grand adventure of marriage and cannot wait to celebrate at their union! If you would like to strike up a conversation with me at the wedding, ask about the collaborative Halloween outfits we did!”
Groomsman
Kyle is a Flight School friend of the Groom. He lives in Denver, working as a UH-60 Pilot and a Nuclear Missile Space Systems Engineer while pursuing his Master’s Degree in Space Systems Engineering. His favorite memories of Stephen were made at 3AM every morning during Flight School “Jon, Stephen, and I would carpool to catch the bus to the airfield and Stephen would climb into the car, proclaiming with an English accent: “Beautiful day to fly in the Queen’s Army!" Though early wakeups wore us out, we would rejuvenate with forgotten trips to PCB, and chill nights cooking and BBQing. Stephen is a paragon of optimism and positivity. He has brought an unparalleled amount of enjoyment and happiness into my life. I am excited to see the same optimism and happiness him and Lauren's marriage."
