Alec had been on the dating scene for... a while, proclaiming his next swipe on tinder to be his last before giving up on finding love. Ally had freshly downloaded some dating apps with hopes that if she was on them, there must be someone decent on them too. Alec saw Ally's profile and thought she looked cool, though not cool enough for a super like. Ally saw Alec's profile and while his photos weren't the best, she was allured by his "islander and lobsterman" description. Ignoring the rest of his gamer lingo, she swiped right. Alec was one of two people she matched with that she gave her phone number to. Ally was his last hope on Tinder. Over the next few days, they texted about life, art, music, family, friends, and dietary restrictions. A few days later, on June 17, 2016 they decided to meet. The meeting location was set to be outside DiMillo's restaurant where they would decide what to do next. As Alec fretted about making it off the ferry in time, Ally was on her way from the gym (wait, what? who is she?) and got scared and almost turned around and ran away at one point on her walk down. Thankfully she continued on and instead introduced herself to a dog. Alec, with band tee, flannel, and baseball cap on, was strutting down Commercial street as he was rushing to the meeting spot, he spied a girl down the sidewalk amongst the crowds of June tourists with a red floral dress and bangs petting a dog. Ally, heart beating fast as her nerves started swimming trying to make small talk with the dogs owner while she waited for a complete stranger to make himself known, looked up to find a handsome man with a beaming kind smile, shining eyes and green flannel coming towards her with open arms. She turned all of her attention to him and they embraced for the first time in a warm hug that felt like home. Alec, breath taken away by her beauty and charm, pivoted to making a plan and it was the moment that he inquired about what restaurants provide gluten free options that Ally knew Alec was the perfect match. For Alec it was when Ally asked him for his birth time and place ;)
