Sean and I met freshman year in college- he lived in a dorm room down the hall from me and referred to me as “the southern girl”. While it was ‘love at first sight’ for him, I was busy making weekend plans with my new BFFs. It wasn’t until 5 years later when I was in graduate school that I agreed to go on a date with him. Little did I know, two years later I would be marrying that annoying guy that never stopped pursuing me. Oh and did I mention that he went home and told his mom he would marry me someday? Man, I’m so glad he was right.
On September 1st, 2018, Sean and I were at Williams Brice Stadium for a USC football game with my cousin Connor. The three of us were tailgating and preparing for the first game of the season- the two of them were preparing for a moment that I would remember for the rest of my life. As we were getting ready to pack up and walk into the stadium, Sean asked to make a toast. He started reminiscing about our relationship, where it all began and how far we'd come. Then, in the middle of hundreds of people, Sean got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. It was in that moment that I realized I would get to spend forever with my favorite person.
