Note from Allyson: About 3 months into dating, Ross took me to Luckenbach during a day-date to Fredericksburg, and we had the best time! I was definitely familiar with the Waylon Jennings song, but had no idea Luckenbach was actually a real town! We had a blast--caught some AWESOME live music and enjoyed exploring. Highly recommended if you have time! "Everybody's Somebody in Luckenbach!" Luckenbach is a small community located 13 miles away from Fredericksburg. Luckenbach is home to 13 residents, but on the weekends over 1,300 people flock to the area. Country music is extremely important to the community. The area has deep western roots and a small population which attributes to a ghost town feel. Because of this, the area is extremely unique place to visit. There is a working saloon, dance hall, and general store in the area. The general store has turned into a souvenir shop for visitors. Visit https://www.luckenbachtexas.com/calendar for a Calendar/Line-up of Live Music!

We did a tour of the winery, and afterwards enjoyed a glass of wine and live music overlooking beautiful scenery. An A+ date for sure! *Open Wed-Sun. Online ticket purchase only* Formerly the Nimitz Museum, the complex is now the only museum in the Continental United States centered on World War II's Pacific campaign. Since 1968, the Museum has expanded to occupy a six-acre campus and gained a reputation as one of the premier military museums in the nation. Over the years the Museum was upgraded and enlarged, and the campus grew to accommodate the Memorial Courtyard, the Plaza of Presidents and the Japanese Garden of Peace. We opened the expanded George H. W. Bush Gallery in 2009. The Gallery's state-of-the-art 33,000 square foot exhibition features 40 media installations, approximately 900 artifacts in 97 climate-controlled cases, 15 macro-artifacts, and hundreds of photographs. Two blocks east of the main campus is the Pacific Combat Zone. Recently reopened after an $8 million renovation.
