Schooner Landing
We went here on our first date. A great place to grab a drink and admire the Damariscotta River. The food is fine, but the view can't be beat. We recommend hot dogs and nachos here. ***Update 9/1: Schooner Landing, a town fixture and community hub, has burned down. This tragedy has changed the landscape of Damariscotta and is a huge loss to our community. Sad.
LaVerna Preserve - Hiking Area
One of the best trails in the area, where we got engaged, and conserved by Coastal Rivers Conservation Trust... where Allyson works! An incredible way to enjoy this beautiful area.
Barn Door Breakfast
A great place for breakfast and lunch. They also have a café that serves coffee, tea, pastries, etc. located just down the street inside of the bookshop.
Damariscotta River Cruises
Get out on the water and see the sites of the Damariscotta River!
King Eider's Pub
The best chowder. Reservations are likely a good idea.
S. Fernald's Country Store
Great place to pick up some sandos. Good to call ahead.
Monhegan Island
Take a day trip out to Monhegan via the Hardy Boat! A beautiful art village ~10 miles off the coast of Maine. An amazing place to hike around. They even have their own brewery out there!
