The Boston Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays will be playing on Friday, June 27 at 7:10 pm and on Sunday, June 29 at 1:35 pm. If you would like to attend the game and/or visit Fenway, you can take the Green Line subway route (an A, B, or C train - just not an E train) Outbound to Kenmore Station, and then walk to the ballpark.

Freedom Trail

Freedom Trail, Boston, MA

The Boston Freedom Trail is a 2.5-mile walking path that connects 16 unique historical sites including churches, museums, burying grounds, parks, and historic markers that tell the story of the American Revolution. The closest point of the Freedom Trail to the Marriott Long Wharf is the Old State House, the site of The Boston Massacre - just a short 4-minute walk up State Street. Look for the red bricks in the sidewalk marking the Freedom Trail - be sure to check out the statue of Paul Revere on Paul Revere Mall on Hanover Street just down the street from St Leonard’s church, where our wedding will take place.

The Old North Church is at 193 Salem Street in the North End and is both a national landmark and an active Episcopal church. As school children know, in April 1775 two lanterns were hung as a signal after which Paul Revere and William Dawes embarked on their famous ride to make Patriots aware of British troops movements. Leading up to the Old North Church is The Paul Revere Mall at 370 Hanover Street, a half block away from St Leonard’s Church. The mall connects Hanover Street and the Old North Church and is highlighted by a ten-foot-high statue of Paul Revere and his horse.

Boston Common is the oldest City Park in the United States and sits on the foot of the Massachusetts State House, its Golden Dome visible from the Common. It is from the Common where guided tours on the Freedom trail originate. Across Charles Street from the Boston Common is the Public Garden, the first botanical garden in the US and from where you will find the famed Boston Swan Boats and the “Make Way for Duckling” statues which pay homage to Robert McCloskey’s Children’s book of the same name. The Public Garden is also the location of a poignant park bench scene in “Good Will Hunting” of Robin Williams and Matt Damon with the statue of George Washington in their background.
