Our modern love story began in 2016, when a simple tweet brought two people from different places into each other’s lives. After connecting online, we started talking everyday, and what began as simple messages quickly turned into something more. We spent hours each day chatting about everything from our favorite music and movies, to sharing funny stories and talking about our interests and the values we had in common. With each text, phone call, and video chat, we built a great friendship that gradually grew into something more meaningful. When we realized we had a connection that was undeniable, we decided it was time to meet in person. Once it came time for Alexis to make his first trip down to Florida, we were both filled with excitement— and nerves! We had spent so much time getting to know each other through screens, but would the connection be as strong in person? Would the comfort and laughter we shared online come to life when we met face-to-face? Suddenly, the wait was over, and the day we had anxiously been waiting for had come. Little did we know, the distance and the waiting would all be worth it. When we spotted each other at the airport terminal, we walked over and embraced. “Finally!”, was the first thing Alexis said. In an instant, all the nerves disappeared. It was like everything we’d shared online had already set the stage for this moment, and the connection was as if we’d known each other a lifetime. From that point on, there was no doubt that we had found something special. We spent five days in Orlando, where we had our very first date at Magic Kingdom. We shopped at Disney Springs, had dinner at Icon Park, and rode the Orlando Eye at night time. Every moment on that trip was magical, filled with laughter and unforgettable memories. During that trip, we made a promise to each other—that no matter the distance, we would do whatever it took to make our relationship work. It was a commitment to stay strong, knowing that what we shared was worth every effort. The real challenge began once Alexis left to return to Virginia. The distance didn’t make things easy, but we made it work. Allyson was in college, navigating the challenges of school life, and for four years, through phone calls, late-night chats, and visits whenever we could, our love only grew stronger. After graduating college, a brief move to Virginia, and then the BIG move to Florida, finally, our new life together began. In the past 3 years since then, our life together has been an amazing adventure, full of laughter, love, and memories that we will cherish forever. We’ve traveled whenever possible, and welcomed our fur baby Lola into our lives, and we are so excited to see what else the future has in store for us. Our story is a beautiful reminder that true love knows no distance, and our journey together is a testament to the power of patience, dedication, and unwavering commitment. We can’t wait to start the next chapter of our story as husband and wife and we couldn’t be more excited to share this special moment with all of you.
