It was May 2019 and a time in both of our lives when we absolutely did not want anything serious. Jesse was planning on heading into the Navy at the end of July and I was at a point in my life where I was searching for myself. One of my good friends Emily and one of Jesse's friends were planning on going to Gainesville for dinner and a brewery after. Emily told me I should come with and that McClane was bringing one of his friends. I was a little iffy about it but decided why not! We all met up to ride in one car and I immediately noticed how good looking Jesse was. We went to eat at Buffalo wild wings and we hit it off, obviously talking about sports, what else! He was also a total gentleman paying for my meal. The next stop was a brewery in Gainesville. We grab a drink and went right to cornhole. Emily and I were partners, which meant I was able to stand next to this good looking guy. If you know both of us, then you know how completive we are! A lot of smack talk was going on and neither one of us was willing to let the other win. My story is I kicked his butt, but Jesse will tell you a different one. At that moment I was like dang where did this guy come from. Next came the moment that swept us both off our feet. Karaoke was going on and some guy started singing Dixieland Delight. That's when Jesse grabbed my hand and we started dancing. Yes, probably not the best song to dance to but we both admitted later that was the moment we knew this may be the one. Weeks went on and a few dates later and Jesse told me he was joining the Navy. Not the most ideal situation after meeting someone and starting to really care about them. We both decided this was not a relationship we wanted to end. During 9 weeks we had 3 phone calls and lots of letters and yet I fell more in love with him. Some people may call us crazy but miles apart our love for each other has grown so much. Now we can not wait to share our lives together!
