Amie was gearing up for her move to Ecuador, when she met Richie in the Denver airport. Almost two years later, back in the States, Amie went to hang out with Richie, and Jason joined them for a night of drinks, laughs, and playing pool.
Jason asked Amie out a few months after meeting and she thought it would be fun to watch James Bond movies and have martinis. Turned out, she didn't own any James Bond movies, nor were there any available for rental... but martinis and conversation would take center stage. It felt simultaneously brand new and like they had been friends for ages.
A month after their James Bond-less first date, Amie left work early, drove to Corona del Mar State Beach, and surprised Jason. She built a teepee, brought a picnic, and set everything up to watch the sunset, just walking distance from where Jason lived. They had a beautiful time laughing under the glow stick bracelet chandelier she built for him, and he had to tell her that he loved her. Of course she loved him right back.
Amie was visiting her Grandparents in St. George, UT for a few weeks and Jason drove seven hours to come visit and bring her back home. It is no secret how important Amie's Grandparents are to her, as her lifelong love of travel and reading were inspired by them. The four of them drove through one of their favorite spots, Snow Canyon State Park, and decided to take some photos at the edge of the canyon. Jason pulled a ring that Amie had fallen in love with a few months earlier out of his pocket, dropped to one knee, and spoke the best words ever. It was hard, but Amie let Jason finish asking before saying "YES!" and sharing this gorgeous moment with her Grandparents.
