Our story started in the 2021-2022 school year, at Sterling Elementary, where Michael teaches PE and Ally teaches 4th Grade. Michael began working with one of Ally's students before class started in the morning, which meant that Ally would walk him down to Michael's office each day. Little did she know, the 10 minutes that he got to spend with her every morning would become the best part of his day. From there, Michael decided never to miss a work happy hour again, so that he could have the chance to see her, and they often were the last two to leave, without even really thinking about it. Those little moments were when Michael first started to fall for her. Once the school year wrapped up (it took a few attempts) Michael finally got Ally to agree to go out for lunch and get some "Tendies" with him. After a few more tendies dates, he finally worked up the courage to take her out to dinner at Cooper's Hawk, a spot they currently frequent for special occasions. After this was a summer spent getting to know each other through more tendies dates, baseball and hockey games, bowling, TopGolf, and sometimes just talking for hours in the parking lot of the All American Steakhouse down the road. In October 2022, Michael officially asked Ally to be his girlfriend, and since then, they have been inseparable. Traveling around the country to attend hockey games with Ally's family, driving around Virginia (and even to New York) for different Harry Potter themed events, or just sitting around watching corny TV shows and movies. Finally, in July of 2024, during the annual family trip to Bethany Beach, Michael asked Ally to marry him. Later that summer, they purchased a home in Ashburn, where they have lived happily since September along with their cat, Gilly. They can't wait to start their journey together as husband and wife!
