Things To Do

Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation

20900 Oakwood Boulevard, Dearborn, MI 48124

One of the premier museums in the Midwest, The Henry Ford is the home of Lincoln's chair from Ford's Theatre, Rosa Park's bus, and the car in which Kennedy was assassinated. No need for a trip to DC or New York!

Belle Isle Aquarium

3 Inselruhe Avenue, Detroit, MI 48207

While not the largest aquarium in the United States, it is the oldest! When Jimmy lived in Detroit he loved to spend Saturday afternoons at the aquarium before taking a walk or having a picnic with Ally on the "beautiful island", as the French would say.

Mexicantown

4301 Vernor W, Detroit, MI 48216

Detroit's Mexicantown is home to some of the best authentic restaurants in the city. Ally and Jimmy had one of their first dates in the city at Los Galanes on Bagley and 23rd, but most places are worth a visit! Try MexicanTown Bakery for some of the best sweets in town!

Maybury State Park

49601 Eight Mile West, Northville, MI 48167

While a little ways out of the city, it is a great place to go for a hike or bike ride and get a sense of what the outdoors are like in Michigan.

Ford Rouge Factory Tour

20900 Oakwood Boulevard, Dearborn, MI 48124

See where they assemble the Ford F-150! Whenever Jimmy would host guests in Detroit this was always one of his stops. Walk the catwalk above the factory to see the factory in action!

Detroit Institute of Arts

5200 Woodward Avenue, Detroit, MI 48202

Motown Museum

2648 West Grand Boulevard, Detroit, MI 48208

Solanus Casey Center

1780 Mount Elliott Street, Detroit, MI 48207

Make sure to visit the final resting place of Detroit's very own saint-in-the-making, Blessed Solanus Casey! Jimmy and Ally love to visit this oasis of God's Mercy and Kindness. You will not regret visiting.

Comerica Park

2100 Woodward Avenue, Detroit, MI 48201

The Cincinnati Reds come to town to do battle against the Detroit Tigers this weekend! The Sunday game is at 1:40 in the afternoon. We didn't plan the wedding around these games, we promise!

For all the days along the way
