One of the premier museums in the Midwest, The Henry Ford is the home of Lincoln's chair from Ford's Theatre, Rosa Park's bus, and the car in which Kennedy was assassinated. No need for a trip to DC or New York!
While not the largest aquarium in the United States, it is the oldest! When Jimmy lived in Detroit he loved to spend Saturday afternoons at the aquarium before taking a walk or having a picnic with Ally on the "beautiful island", as the French would say.
Detroit's Mexicantown is home to some of the best authentic restaurants in the city. Ally and Jimmy had one of their first dates in the city at Los Galanes on Bagley and 23rd, but most places are worth a visit! Try MexicanTown Bakery for some of the best sweets in town!
While a little ways out of the city, it is a great place to go for a hike or bike ride and get a sense of what the outdoors are like in Michigan.
See where they assemble the Ford F-150! Whenever Jimmy would host guests in Detroit this was always one of his stops. Walk the catwalk above the factory to see the factory in action!
