For those of you who don’t know, Ally and Bobby went to Central Catholic High School together and were a year apart, but ran in adjacent friendship circles. Ally remembers seeing Bobby in the halls and yelling out, "Pete!" which is Bobby's middle name, and Bobby would hold his hand high and wave. Fast forward 12 years, Ally and Bobby would see each other at a San Jose Sharks game, say hi in passing, and that was it. We come to July of 2019, when Bobby sent Ally a random and unexpected message asking if she was living in the South Bay. Ally replied that she was not, but then conversation took hold. Ally invited him to the upcoming Renaissance Faire in San Jose that she was attending, but alas, he was attending a friend's wedding. They set up an evening to have dinner, and Bobby, who was at the end of the fiscal year at work, called Ally to sincerely apologize that he would not be able to make it and asked for a rain check. Ally was truly impressed by his efforts to call rather than text. They rescheduled for Saturday brunch, and Bobby made his way to Oakland. On this brunch date, Ally was oblivious to the fact that it was a first date, and thought it was just two friends catching up after 14 years. She proceeded to talk about her dating life and adventures, not thinking that this was a time to try to make a good impression. Bobby later let her know that this was a first date, and they shared their first kiss at the brunch table while sharing a pitcher of mimosas. The last three years have been spent primarily in the pandemic, and Ally and Bobby have proven they can spend excessive amounts of time stuck in a house together without wanting to truly murder the other. They have learned the art of communication in a relationship, as well as patience, compromise, and compassion. They share puns and dad jokes together, and are truly each other's best friend. They love their cold weather travel destinations (Vancouver, Alaska, Ireland), and enjoy watching hockey and football together. The other love they share is that of Sir Theodore von Zurich, also known as Teddy, Bobby's Bernese Mountain Dog. Teddy, for those who haven't had the pleasure of meeting him, is a big fluff ball of love and goofiness, and has been very accepting of Ally coming into their lives, though she is still chopped liver when Bobby is away from the house. Bobby proposed on June 20, 2022, at the Cliffs of Moher in County Clare, Ireland. Ally and Bobby were there for their friends' wedding, but Bobby knew that Ireland was at the top of Ally's bucket list and thought it would be special to have this memory there. Bobby asked permission from the bride and groom and promised it would not overshadow their nuptials. Bobby, Ally, and their friend Don hiked to one end of the Cliffs of Moher. Ally had forgotten her inhaler in California, so she was wildly out of breath by the time they got there. They spent a few minutes taking pictures of the breathtaking views. Ally asked Don to take a picture of her and Bobby, and when she went to grab her phone from him, Bobby said, "Oh and one more thing. (gets down on one knee) Will you marry me?" Ally, in true Ally fashion, began crying. Because holy shit, HERE? She gathered herself, said yes, continued crying, and the three of them celebrated the beautiful occasion. They were greeted at the wedding venue by their friends with a bottle of champagne to celebrate. So here we are, planning our special day, and we can't wait to share it with you. Thank you for being alongside us for our journey. We love and appreciate you!
