Cousin or sister? Well, that saying "God made us cousins because they knew our mothers couldn't handle us as sisters" is way too accurate. Lindee is the closest thing I have to a sister and there is no way I could stand at the alter without her right there next to me. Our family is closer than most, which can be a blessing and a curse, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Lindee is one of the most strong-willed, just, and independent women out there. She may be six years younger, but I look up to her more than she'll ever know.

The choice was obvious to ask John to be my best man. We have experienced so many things in life together. When I reflect on good memories, John is a fixture in most of them. From elementary school through college, to traveling the world, to navigating through life’s peaks and valleys; John is there through and through. He has a knack for bringing people together while being the life of the party! I have called John many things including roommate, classmate, teammate, but most importantly I call him a best friend, and as Forrest Gump says, that’s something you can’t find around the corner.

Katie, my Queen. This girl embodies the true definition of friendship. She has this amazing ability to make you feel like she’s right next to you even though she’s physically hundreds of miles away. Katie is one of the funniest, smartest, easy going, and supportive people I know. She always knows how to boost my ego, but never hesitates to give me a little extra push when needed. Katie encourages me to reach my full potential while also reminding me it’s okay to be a grandma every once in a while. It’s all about balance, right? Words can’t describe how grateful I am to have Katie as my right hand woman and best friend. #GBEKK

Me and Mike’s first memory of each other was when I destroyed the fort he had built during play time in preschool, and as the old saying goes, the rest was history. While our first interaction was me tearing down his fort, he’s spent a lifetime building me up. Mike is a guy that loves his friends and wishes nothing but the best for everyone. It’s a testament to his goofy antics; and while I say his jokes aren’t funny, I admit, they’re pretty funny. I mean, look at that smile, pretty contagious right?

Where do I even start with Ang? She's my A1 since day 1 (okay, since we were two, but close enough). Angela has been by my side through it all - the ups and downs, the good and bad, through thick and thin. My sister from another mister (everyone truly did think we were sisters growing up). There are way too many memories to count and we could honestly create a new language with our inside jokes. No one makes me laugh quite like Angie does and I can't wait to scream Bon Jovi songs out of the window of our nursing home when we are old and grey ;)

Dave is the dad of my friend group. A guy that knows each one of his friends inside and out and is always putting the needs of others over his own. Dave is married to his high school sweetheart and helped me to believe that true love can exist. Throughout the years, Dave has pushed me to be better in a lot of ways from academics to athletics to being an overall better person. A man must have a code, and I thank him for for setting the precedent of what real friendship looks like.

Kristina and I met freshman year of high school (she was one of my first friends) and I can’t imagine life without her bright shining light. Kind, compassionate, and genuine are just a few ways to describe her. Kristina was the first person to make me think "are girls really this nice?" and she's never proved me wrong since. Her heart of gold and cool lavender Razor cell phone are what sparked this life-long friendship. She is also the one that introduced me to the other ladies of GBEKK (Gabby, Blair, Erin, Katie, Kristina. I know, we’re so clever) and I am forever indebted to her for that. Kristina is one of the most thoughtful, sweet, and loyal ladies in the world and always brings out the best in me. #GBEKK

If you need someone to bring the party, look no further than Austin! He is the dude that can bring the fun out in anyone and his tendency to do so is why he's so great to be around. Austin inspires me to be my best and leads by example. He is talented with multimedia, and I'd have him as our wedding videographer, but I couldn't imagine him not standing with me on my big day. Austin embodies courage, humor, and has a natural disposition to always be himself no matter what. Genuine people are hard to find in this day and age, but Austin is tried and true. He also teaches my friends and I how to be better Warzone players on Xbox which may be his biggest contribution. Kidding!

My fellow country music and dog lover. Being around Erin is always such a fresh breath of air and feels like home. I remember the very first time Erin invited me over for a sleepover and I felt SO cool because Erin’s house was the place to be (not to mention the taco dip)! It’s safe to say she hasn’t been able to get rid of me since. It's funny how certain things in life instantly remind you of a person, and for Erin that’s the beach, people riding scooters, and whipped cream vodka. All kidding aside, Erin is one of the strongest and most resilient women I know. I look up to her in so many ways and am beyond thankful for her endless friendship. #GBEKK

He may be James to you, but to me he’s Shiny Shoes. In high school before a game, James would have to dress up in a shirt and tie, and his infamous shiny shoes. Make sure you keep an eye out for them on the dance floor! James is a guy I can always joke with and we could sing you every word to Bohemian Rhapsody. James moved away when I was in high school and while it was hard to see a good friend go, we stayed in touch. Distance is just a number, and I know we’ll always pick up where we leave off. I’m happy to have him by my side on my big day!

I could have sworn Blair hated me when we first met in high school, but I later found out she was just confused as to why the new girl (me) was wearing a shirt that said “Bananas.” I still question that wardrobe choice, but am thankful it had a role in starting a life long friendship with one of my best friends. Blair was the first of GBEKK to get married so it's safe to say she has set the standard for a fun, loving, and healthy marriage. Even though she lives in Seattle, I never doubt we will pick up right where we leave off. Beautiful inside and out, Blair has one of the most kind souls and a very contagious laugh that I love. #GBEKK

Ryan, more commonly referred to as Jones, was #13 on the field but is #1 in my heart. A football phenom in high school, he was a grade below me. So when I graduated high school in 2012, I was delighted to hear he would be attending Salisbury University with me a year later. Despite being a year younger, I’m pumped for the man he has become. He is the good looking, athletic, smart, and successful guy that I am not at all jealous of whatsoever... All jokes aside, Jones is a real one that has always been there for me. In the famous words of Terrell Owens, “that’s my quarterback!”

Steph was the very first friend I met in high school! I will always be thankful for her coming up to me at lunch time and saving me from eating by myself. There is never a dull moment with Steph. She’s my spontaneous, fun-loving, ‘no f*cks given’ friend. Steph certainly brings the party wherever she goes and always encourages me to live life to the fullest. Not only is she a blast to be around, but she is also loyal to the core. If I needed something at 3am, I know I could call her and she’d be there in a heartbeat. She always has my back and I am forever grateful for that.

I met James in college, by way of my best man. Thanks, John! James is a humble and kind hearted guy that always has a nice word to say. He rarely looks at the negative in a person or situation and surrounding yourself with positive energy like that is infectious. James is a mentor, the mediator of my friend group, and our go to for solid advice. There’s never a doubt that hanging with James will be a good time. Whether it’s chilling on the couch watching football or going out for a night on the town, James is true and loyal to his core.

I didn't know who I was missing in my life until I met Ally freshman year of college at the University of Maryland (go Terps!). My very first memory of her was being jealous that her dorm room was bigger than mine and the rest was history! Ally quickly became my dinner buddy, travel partner, and live-in therapist. She is the most down to earth, genuine, loyal, and badass person I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. College and life after just wouldn't be the same without her. Not many people have friends that will travel from Germany to be in their wedding, but I'm so thankful I have that in Ally!

After graduating college I moved to Oklahoma to start my career. He was my first friend I made at my new job. Moving to Oklahoma, I knew no one but Brett sought to show me some good ole Midwest hospitality. I remember when he invited me to his family’s Thanksgiving to make sure I wasn’t alone for the holiday. Ever since, Brett, his family and friends were and still are my home away from home. We will talk about anything and everything relating to sports, and that’s enough to keep us happy.

It was a no brainer to have my favorite little girl lead me down the aisle on my big day. I already know she will 100% steal the show and that's perfectly fine with me. It has been an absolute pleasure watching Harper grow into such a beautiful, intelligent, hilarious, and kind-hearted young lady. Watch out for her on the dance floor!

Emmitt is the son of my best man and one of two babies to give me baby fever. He is a great kid with the world’s most infectious laugh. I am pumped to call him my Godson! While I expect him to grow up and become an amazing lacrosse player, we can start his training by carrying our rings on our special day.

The bridal party wouldn’t be complete without the baby of the family as our other flower girl! Although Atley lives in Illinois, it has been so fun watching her grow. Thank goodness for social media!! Atley is one of the happiest babies ever and I can’t wait to have her lead me down the aisle with her big cousin Harper!

Colt is the second of two babies to give me baby fever. The future starting quarterback at the University of Texas, he will first be called upon to execute a perfect passing of the rings. Gabby calls Colt her second boyfriend, but I know I’m #1 in her heart…I think.

Ripken, the red lab, is our bestest boy! While he won't be in attendance at the wedding, he cannot wait for his parents to get married and for all of the belly rubs to come!
