Our love story began with a swipe right during the early days of COVID-19. Allie was wrapping up her final year of college while Eric was working at Microsoft in Bellevue. A few months later, we decided to move in together. Those early pandemic days were filled with late night gaming sessions, way too much takeout, and countless YouTube and anime shows. Looking back, it was the perfect way to really get to know each other—no distractions, just us discovering what made each other laugh, think, and dream. When Eric's lease ended in November, we made our first big decision as a couple: head to LA to stay with Eric's parents. We tested the waters with month-long Airbnb stays in Oregon, Hawaii, and Arizona where each destination taught us something new about ourselves and each other. By September 2021, we were ready for the adventure of a lifetime. We wanted to answer some big questions: What's out there for us? What does this world have to offer? Are we missing something by staying put? What followed was an incredible three-year journey that took us across continents and cultures. We wandered through old towns and ruins in Western Europe, soaked up the sun and beauty of Thailand, conquered the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa, and explored the rich history of the Middle East. We found intensity and wisdom in India's yoga retreats, marveled at Japan's fall colors and cherry blossoms, trekked through Vietnam's landscapes, and island-hopped in Indonesia. Our most ambitious adventure took us to South America, where we camped and hitchhiked through the breathtaking wilderness of Patagonia, and even made it to the pristine wilderness of Antarctica. We returned to India for Vipassana meditation and spiritual growth, explored the vibrant cultures of Taiwan and Hong Kong, and concluded our travels in China, where Allie embarked on a meaningful birth parent search alongside her mother. By January 2025, we knew we were ready for our next chapter. Eric dedicated himself to job interviews for two months, and his persistence paid off with a wonderful opportunity. This April, we settled in Cupertino, staying with Eric's former internship friend as we begin this exciting new phase. After three years of exploring the world together, we've learned that the most important adventures aren't the places you go, but the person you choose to explore life with. We're excited to celebrate this next chapter with all of you—the people who've supported us, listened to our travel stories, and helped us become who we are today. We can't wait to see what adventures come next.
