We met at Glenelg High School in 2013. I saw Zak walking down the steps and knew right then that I had to have him. My best friend was dating a friend of Zak's at the time, and they set us up. We hung out at the barn at Zak's parents house (lol) for the majority of the week of winter break, and the rest was history.
I had been telling Zak for years that I wanted to be engaged and marry him. In 2019, he kept asking me what I wanted for Christmas and my response would be, "to marry you." He kept telling me not this year, since he thought we were on a ten-year-plan. To my surprise, we were dancing in the kitchen at my parents on Christmas Eve 2019 to "Kiss an Angel Good Morning," and he spun me around and was down on one knee. I of course said yes (and cried). My poor mom was in the bathroom!!
